Acrostic August Challenge

Screen Shot 2016-07-16 at 10.24.37 AMAs part of a reading challenge for the CanadianContent Goodreads group, I worked through  Canadian books starting with each letter of August.  Participating in a reading challenge is a great way to read more of the wonderful Canadian authors that our beautiful country has to offer.

I particularly enjoyed reading the books of Emma Donaghue and Gail Anderson-Dargatz who I will be meeting at the Grimsby Author Series this fall.  There are still tickets available from the Grimsby Library website if you are interested and close enough to join.  It is a great selection of authors that will be participating and it is a wonderful evening complete with wine tasting, snacks, music and great discussion!

A – Away (Jane Urquhart)

U – Under the Visible Life (Kim Echlin)

G – Green Grass Running Water (Thomas King)

U – Under the Afghan Sky (Mellissa Fung)

S – Slammerkin (Emma Dongoghue)

T – Turtle Valley (Gail Anderson-Dargatz)

What did you read in August?  Did any of your books fit with the Acrostic August Challenge?  Are you trying to read more Canadian?

Watch for the September Back to School Challenge which is coming next!
